Covering a period between June 2014 and June 2015, traffic has increased by 2.3% in the year. In the morning and the evening the average speed is 23.8mph on major roads but drops to 15mph in London.

DfT states that it may be possible that the surge in the UK Economy and the fall of fuel price have boosted this trend.
