Haulage firm director gets disqualified for pushing employees to break the law.

Gupreet Garcha, director of a haulage firm operating in Shrewsbury and Coalville was personally involved in pushing drivers to break the rules as well as breaking them himself when delivering in order to deliver on time.

Mr Garcha will be disqualified from acting as a transport manager for 3 years and will be disqualified from holding or obtaining an operator's licence on 08/01/17 when the company's operator licences will be revoked.

Seven drivers of the company said they had been told by Garcha either to work when they should have been taking a rest or had to take their card out and continue to drive without making a legal record of their work.

The Traffic Commissioner added that Garcha's company deserved to go out of business because it had been quite prepared to put profit before the law being a safety risk
